Sea Shell Wreaths

Sea shell wreaths are fun for a variety of reasons. They make great gifts for folks who love the ocean. They are wonderful souvenirs of your family vacation to the beach. Making a seashell wreath can be fun for the whole family and enables you to pick the colors, shells, etc. that you like or that match your decor. Something that makes seashell wreaths more interesting is that you can use just about anything from the ocean to decorate them. For instance, if you find dead starfish, pretty shells, colored pebbles, bits of driftwood or a crabs claw on the beach, you can clean it up and let it dry out, and even paint it to put on your wreath.

To make a wreath you will need to gather these materials ahead of time:

- a circular base (made of metal, straw, pine, etc.) to build your wreath on
- a glue gun and glue sticks
- shells, greenery, dried grass or whatever you want to decorate the wreath
- any additional items such as fishing net, toy anchors, plastic sea gulls, etc.

Simply glue your items onto the base in the order and design you want and let it dry. Add a wreath hanger to the back and you are ready to display your handmade wreath. Seashell wreaths make wonderful Christmas gifts and will look great wherever they are hung.
