Chandelier Lighted Wreath
Select your favorite wreath and make it into a colorful chandelier lighted wreath for any room in the house. Converting a festive wreath into a welcoming bit of finery for the ceiling can be both practical and fun.
1. First pick a wreath you would like to display as decorative holiday lighting. If you don't already own one you think would be appropriate, you can either purchase one ready made or go to one of our other pages on this site and make your own.
Hint: Be sure the wreath you choose has a sturdy frame that can be hung and still hold firmly together. Wire back ones are a good choice. Also be sure your wreath is not flammable.
2. Purchase a BATTERY OPERATED set of Christmas lights with a timer attached. (The timer comes in handy if you don't want to get on a ladder each time you turn the lights off and on.) The lights can be clear or colored, blinking or not as you prefer.
3. Measure the frame of the wreath from side to side. (The sturdiest part that wire could be attached to for hanging.)
4. Choose the area where the lighted wreath will be hung and affix 6 hooks (the kind used to hold cups work well) on the ceiling in a circle the same size as the frame you just measured.
5. Now wind your lights over and around and through your wreath, making sure the battery pack is fastened to the back and will not slip out when hung.
Hint: You can also add your favorite Christmas ornaments to the wreath with a bit of wire if you would like to make it more festive.
6. Test to see if your lights are working and hang your wreath on the ceiling by the 6 hooks. Walah!! Instant chandelier lighted wreath!!
