The key to making a floral wreath that everyone will think you bought, is to make it look full and stylishly designed. Layering the flowers, greenery, etc. will make it look full, and here is what you need to design one type of lovely summer wreath (use variations where desired):
- 12 inch straw wreath or grapevine wreath - thin craft wire - wire cutters - real or artificial flower heads (such as rose, sunflower, thistle, daisy, amaranth, black-eyed susan, etc.) - heavy duty scissors - background layer such as dried grasses or moss, etc. - glue gun and glue stick
Cover your table with newspaper (as this can be messy) and begin by gluing your background of grass or moss onto the wreath in patches. Then take your largest flowers first and arrange them as desired around the wreath in between and on top of the background material and wire them into place. Fill in remaining spaces with smaller flowers and wire them down. You now have a floral wreath worth displaying just about anywhere.
